Ground anchors are structural elements installed in soil or rock to transfer tensile loads from a structure to stable ground layers. They are widely used in excavation support, retaining structures, slope stabilisation and uplift resistance applications.
The system typically consists of a drilled borehole, a steel tendon or bar, and a cementitious grout that bonds the anchor to the surrounding ground. Once installed and grouted, the anchor is tensioned to apply the required preload and ensure structural performance.
Depending on project requirements and geotechnical conditions, anchors can be executed as:
- Temporary anchors
- Permanent anchors
- Active (prestressed) anchors
- Passive anchors
Anchor technology ensures high load capacity and precise force control, even in confined or complex environments, making it suitable for infrastructure, urban construction and geotechnical stabilisation works.
