Soil Mixing is a ground improvement technology based on the in-situ mechanical blending of soil with a cementitious binder to create soil-cement columns or panels (soilcrete). The process enhances the geotechnical properties of weak, compressible or contaminated soils without removing large volumes of material.
The technique is performed using rotating mixing tools that penetrate the ground while injecting binder slurry. The soil and binder are thoroughly mixed, forming a homogeneous treated mass with increased strength and reduced permeability.
Depending on project requirements, Soil Mixing can be executed as:
- Single columns
- Overlapping columns
- Continuous panels
- Mass stabilisation blocks
Soil Mixing technology ensures high adaptability to different soil conditions, including clays, silts, sands and heterogeneous ground, making it suitable for foundation support, cut-off walls, excavation support and environmental remediation projects.
