Sheet Pile Vibrating

High-frequency vibratory technology for efficient installation and extraction of sheet piles in various soil conditions.
Overview

Overview

High Frequency Vibration technology is used for the installation and extraction of driven piles through controlled vertical vibrations. This method is particularly effective for sheet piles, steel tubular piles, H-beams and precast concrete elements in granular and soft cohesive soils.

The system operates by generating high-frequency vertical oscillations that temporarily reduce soil resistance and shaft friction around the pile, allowing penetration under the combined effect of vibration and machine crowd force.

Depending on ground conditions and structural requirements, the method can be applied:

  • For steel sheet piles
  • For tubular driven piles
  • For H-section beams
  • For temporary and permanent retaining structures

High-frequency vibratory driving ensures rapid installation, improved productivity and reduced noise levels compared to impact systems, making it suitable for infrastructure and marine works as well as selected urban applications.

How it works?

1

Machine positioning and pile alignment

The piling rig is positioned and the pile element is accurately aligned using the mast and guiding system.
2

Vibratory hammer engagement

The high-frequency vibratory hammer is securely clamped to the head of the pile.
3

Activation of vibration

The hammer generates vertical oscillations at high frequency, reducing soil resistance and facilitating penetration.
4

Controlled pile advancement

The pile advances into the ground under vibration and additional crowd force from the rig.
5

Completion or extraction

Once the target depth is reached, vibration stops. The same system can be used for controlled extraction when required.
How it works?

Advantages

  • ✓ Fast installation speed compared to impact driving
  • ✓ Lower noise levels than traditional impact hammers
  • ✓ Suitable for granular and soft cohesive soils
  • ✓ Effective for both installation and extraction
  • ✓ Reduced structural stress on pile elements

Limitations

  • ⚠ Reduced efficiency in very dense soils or hard rock
  • ⚠ Possible vibration transmission to nearby structures
  • ⚠ Limited penetration capacity in highly compacted formations
  • ⚠ May require pre-drilling in difficult stratigraphy
  • ⚠ Performance may decrease in highly cohesive soils where vibration transfer is less effective
