C7XP-2 and C16XP-2 at work for Bergamo train station Expansion (Italy)
Two Casagrande hydraulic drilling rigs – models C7XP-2 and C16XP-2 – are currently operating at the Bergamo railway station expansion site, a key infrastructure project for enhancing urban and regional transport.
Quadrio Costruzioni is using the equipment for the construction of 14-metre deep micropiles with a diameter of 250 mm, which are essential to ensure stability and strength of the new structures.
The new railway station in Bergamo, providing larger passenger spaces calibrated to the future catchment area and two new pedestrian crossings of high architectural and urban quality, will become the functional fulcrum of an important organic system of transport and city mobility, both for its functions related to railway transport and intermodal development with rail-road interchange, and for its role in the urban context with particular attention to environmental sustainability with new green areas and trees.
