Two Casagrande C6 XP-2 crawler drills for inclined micropiles at Stewartville Generating Station
Two Casagrande C6 XP-2 crawler drills for inclined micropiles.
At the Stewartville Generating Station project in Ontario, Canada, two Casagrande C6 XP-2 crawler drills are supporting micropile works for a retaining wall along the dam outflow slope, where the foundation system is designed to help prevent slope failure.
The works include the installation of 88 tension micropiles with a diameter of 273 mm and 88 compression micropiles with a diameter of 194 mm. The inclined drilling configuration requires controlled alignment, stable positioning and accurate execution along the slope.
A precise application where inclined micropiles, retaining wall construction and crawler drill positioning come together in a critical hydro-infrastructure environment.
Thank you to IDE, Casagrande dealer for the East USA, for the support on this project.
