B240XP-2 Drilling Bored Piles from a Water Platform – Port of Split, Croatia
At St. Peter’s Gate in the Port of Split, Texo Molior is executing marine foundation works as part of a €21.1 million reconstruction and expansion project aimed at increasing quay capacity and operational resilience.
The intervention extends the port area by approximately 5,300 m² and strengthens Split’s role as the main maritime connection between the Dalmatian islands and the mainland. The new quay structures require deep foundations capable of transferring significant vertical and horizontal loads under continuous ferry traffic.
Operating directly from a floating water platform, the Casagrande B240XP-2 piling rig is drilling large diameter bored piles in a marine environment. Working on water demands strict control of verticality, stability of the carrier, and precise management of casing and concreting phases.
The rig’s torque capacity and structural design support stable drilling cycles even when installed on temporary floating platforms, where load distribution and machine balance are critical.
This project demonstrates how the B240XP-2 supports contractors in complex marine foundations. We thank Texo Molior and the Port of Split Authority for their collaboration on this strategic infrastructure development.
